Who says the drive in is just for movies?
On Thursday, October 22, 2026, we’re trading Hollywood blockbusters for some all american football action! Route 66 Drive In Theater is teaming up with CILCSA to host a massive community Tailgating Party, broadcasting the Chicago Bears vs. New England Patriots game live on our towering outdoor screens.
Grab your crew, load up the truck, and experience Thursday night football the way it was meant to be seen… outside, under the autumn sky, and surrounded by fellow fans!
Football with a Mission: Benefiting the Animal Protective League
There’s nothing we love more than bringing our community together for a great cause. This event proudly supports Springfield’s own Animal Protective League (APL).
A portion of the net proceeds from every single vehicle entry will go directly toward the APL’s mission of rescuing, caring for, and finding loving homes for local animals in need. That means just by coming out to watch the game, you're helping our four-legged neighbors.
Pack the Truck or Hit the Snack Bar: What You Need to Know
We’re opening the gates early so you can get the full stadium-parking-lot experience right here in front of the screen:
- Bring Your Tailgate Gear: Portable grills, coolers, lawn chairs, and outdoor yard games are all welcome. Back your vehicle in, pop the tailgate, and fire up your favorite game-day recipes.
- Route 66 Concessions Open (Yes, Beer and Seltzers Too!): Prefer classic movie and stadium snacks? Our Route 66 Drive-In concession stand will be open and fully stocked with hot food, favorites, and cold drinks. And yes, that means we will have beer and seltzers available for purchase right at the stand!
- Seasonal Autumn Specials: Warm up or sweeten your game night with our limited-time fall treats:
- Baked Goods: Pumpkin Spiced Mini-ish Doughnuts (5 for $5.00) and Chocolate Chip Cookies (3 for $3.75)
- Seasonal Beverages: Apple Cider Slushies ($4.00) and Hot Chocolate ($3.00)
- One Price per Carload: Pack the car! Admission is charged per vehicle, making it an easy, affordable night out for families, friends, and co-workers.
- House Rules (Pack It In, Pack It Out): We love welcoming tailgate setups, but we ask all guests to please be respectful of our property. Take all trash, food scraps, and used charcoal/coals home with you when you leave. Help us keep our grounds clean, safe, and ready for future community events!
